Product details

Your Next Entrance Has a Display.

An ordinary backpack carries your things. This one gives your outfit a changing centerpiece. Put a favorite design, a short message or a moving animation on the LED panel and take a different look to the next meetup.

Make the Design Yours

Use the compatible Nyan Gear app to change the panel’s artwork. Switch between simple graphics, text and animated designs as your mood changes. Choose clear shapes and high contrast for a display that reads well at a glance.

Nyan LED backpack open to show the laptop compartment and storage space

Plan the Power Before You Go

The LED panel needs a suitable power bank. This page covers the backpack on its own; a power bank and hydration bladder are not included unless a package expressly lists them. Runtime depends on the power bank, brightness and animation.

Choose the Features You Will Use

Custom designs are offered through the app. Live speed, music information and brake animations belong to the separate Nyan+ subscription, not the free custom-design feature set. Those paid functions are optional.

Rider beside a motorcycle with a Nyan programmable LED backpack

A Standout Piece for Your Everyday Kit

Wear it to events, on a commute or whenever a plain bag feels too ordinary. The illuminated panel is a visual accessory, not certified road-safety equipment or a substitute for bicycle lights and reflective gear.

Deceptive advertising. Overpriced.
It is absolute garbage to put your most advertised features behind an additional paywall and put that in the finest print that you can.

Just wanted to say I dig the product
Just wanted to say I dig the product, obviously some gifs don't show up well if they have too much going on and look grainy, still enjoy it. If I could ask for something more it would be to make the playlist have the music in it as well so you can have the music scroll for so long then have gifs scroll in between for so long.

I like it a lot
I like it a lot. The panel is very bright. Build quality of the bag feels solid. The zipper looks watertight. it keeps its shape and doesn't sag which is great on a bike. Love the strap clips that keep things from flapping in the wind. Would recommend.

It's pretty great! Comfortable and simple
It's pretty great! It's comfortable and simple. I don't like that there are paywalls for what is advertised as additional features of the backpack. They were advertised as part of the product and I'm not a fan of how they went about "providing" these features. The extra features aren't really important to me though. The quality and functionality is pretty good.

everything was fine till I found out my bag version 1 needed just an app from version 2 to do the same thing l!?!? so to be fare. the new bag has more straps and clips. holes for the water bladder and the pocket is the same from the original bag," the old laptop pocket" area. not sure if the stop feature is phone sensing or bag sensed when it comes to the brake function. The bag was good , still have it , new features made it better. could have been 120 less if I had access to just the updated app tho.....

Bags great but no where does it say on the site you need a portable battery to even use this thing. Definitely a bit disappointing but other than that is very nice. The site needs a disclosure or announcement on the item. IT DOES NOT COME WITH PORTABLE BATTERY NEEDED TO POWER BAG.

One day Nyan Gear appeared on my Facebook feed and never left. I thought the whole idea was super cool - functional backpack that increases visibility and is customizable.\nI was stressing the test for my class M and decided that if I passed, I’d buy myself the bag as a reward. Well, I did. And I did. Zero regrets.\nFrom the start, I was impressed with the quick shipping and quality packaging. Upon opening, I found a backpack of higher quality than I had expected, if I’m being honest. Instructions for the app and linking the bag were straightforward. Plugged in the battery and the bag lit right up.\nNow, because I’m new at riding, I’m being super lame and using the screen as a way to make people see me but also warn them that I’m new and could do something stupid like stall at any moment. However, having this bag has increased my confidence about being out and about on my bike (when my 6’5 boyfriend isn’t playing “linebacker” for me on his Ducati Penigale V4S).\nI will say, the bag doubled as entertainment for my young nieces who loved seeing random things appear on the screen they each want one now for everyday school use. My boyfriend also thinks the bag is awesome and wants one now.\nOverall, this is a great standard sized backpack with sturdy buckles and zippers, and clips to keep the excess straps from flapping around. I was easily able to carry a large water bottle (Stanley), hoodie, snacks, wallet, and other random things. There are two elastic mesh pockets inside that are great for the battery, and other small things I like to have on hand (hair ties, lense wipes, etc..).\nMy only critique would be that there isn’t a search option in the app for specific gifs and images. Also, I haven’t seen or found a way to save\/store custom loops. It seems like I’d have to remake it if I wanted to use it again later. But I could just be missing something? Neither of these things are significant issues by any means.\nIf you’re new to riding and considering this bag, I absolutely recommend it! If you’re an experienced rider, well, watch the video ads and see for yourself. Not a hint of buyer’s remorse on this.","verified":false,"images":["https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0777\/0754\/2706\/files\/nyan-programmable-led-backpack-customer-photo-f436483ee64def58.jpg?v=1792399822","https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0777\/0754\/2706\/files\/nyan-programmable-led-backpack-customer-photo-299ab25b0d53ee4f.jpg?v=1792399823"]},{"author":"Ellis B.","date":"2026-08-02T22:59:18.000Z","rating":5,"title":"Love my backpack! The app is glitchy and the back doesn’t store previous slides very well. If you turn it off and back on, half of the slides disappear or thumbnails don’t match the slide deck. Getting Bluetooth going and synced with the bag so that my ride is ready is a process sometimes. However, the material is thick and protective. You can see the bag from dusk til dawn, not so great in summer sunlight. Don’t wear it with thick fall riding jacket because the straps will compress the venting of the gear. Wear armored hoodies or summer gear. Overall, I don’t regret the purchase. I wanted to add some gifs before my next ride, so per usual I connect a battery pack and see the last gif I had on light up (private doakes very hilarious), then as soon as I open the app the backpack shuts off the image and has a blue light line horizontally across the backpack. Of course I disconnect the battery and now the thing won’t turn on at all. Go figure I buy one of these after sitting on it since the very beginning… only for bro to release a higher quality one with more features like 3 days later. Worst part is that I can’t even rock this backpack anymore because of the amount of people that’ll be asking me to turn it on… and I don’t blame them it’s literally the only reason I’d rock this pack. Which is both kewl if you need to replace just the panel, but also takes away from the picture a bit. The app is pretty clear and easy to figure out, maybe a tad glitchy, but nothing awful.\nThe biggest con, the bag is awesome, WHEN it wants to connect. I'd say it connects to the Bluetooth on my phone with no issues 2 out of 5 times. Yes, it was a bit pricy, but when you get a sale and a discount, it’s soooo worth it. 10\/10 would recommend. I recommend also buying a portable charger with it because that’s the only way it lights up. I have a larger orange one, and I ride 20 mins to work and it doesn’t deplete the battery at all. They were extremely easy to set up and use. Don’t draw much power at all. I have 36000 mAh battery pack and I’ve been running the back for at least 10 hours and it’s only drawn 25% of the battery. Only two reasons it’s not 5\/5 stars 1. because the 64x64 led layout is quite a small resolution which blurs some higher res gifs. For subsequent models possibly a thing to look into making better 2. The shoulder straps are kind of short and not made for someone with really broad shoulders. But even with that it’s still extremely comfortable and barely noticeable.\nAmazing product. Getting it was easy and the price was reasonable. The only thing that keeps me from rating this 5 stars is the software on the app. Sometimes it don’t want to connect. Or switch when you put it on loop mode. If the app or software got the bugs worked out and tweaked then I would come back and do 5 stars. I do wish it came with a battery pack. But it’s 20 bucks sold separately. That’s just a personal opinion. The clarity is really good for the price and all things considered. On the app there’s a lot of pre set options so you have a variety. But navigating the app. Sending orders to the backpack from the app and just trying to use the app is the only thing holding this back. If ur okay with the app being a bit of a pain the buy this. I hope the owner reads this and improve the app. But other than that. The LED panel is where it really shines (literally)—it gives you visibility in low light and nighttime rides, which is a huge safety bonus. But beyond that, it’s a tool for creative expression. Whether it’s your logo, a mood, or a message, the display gives you total control over your look on the road.\nFrom durability to design to that extra spark of personality, Nyan Gear nailed it. I was a little bit disappointed with the big leds at first, some gifs that you upload are to detailed, which leads to a bad visual result. The backpack works, the screen brightness is great, definitely seen at night.\nThe issue I have is the app for the bag is okay. There are a selection of .gifs however uploading my own always comes as a transcode error. I have no idea what is the requirement to upload my own .gif. I have tried to just do bit gifs at 64*64 and even just plane jpegs and always teanscode errors. The app new selection doesn't grow by much.
